  • Job Description: Provides technical assistance in the capacity of a surgical (scrub) technician in an operating room, labor and delivery or other facility performing surgical procedures.
  • Essential Responsibilities: Prepares sterile field, performs surgical scrub, assists in preparing operative field, preserves identification of operative specimens, obtains special equipment, manipulates instruments, observes progress of surgery, participates in counts, cleans instruments and areas, assists in training surgical technicians.
    • Job Requirements
    • Knowledge of basic human anatomy and first-aid methods.
    • Skill in maintaining effective working relationships.
    • Ability to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served.
      • Unit Specific Information
      • Unit may require clerical and technical direct patient care activities in Labor and Delivery.
        • Additional Details
        • Knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span.
        • Ability to assess data reflective of patient's status.
