Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Profession:
Respiratory Care Practitioner Specialty: Intensive Critical Care
Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1
Year of Critical Care Experience Required License: Licensed by the
relevant state medical board as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
Certifications: Registered by the National Board of Respiratory
Care, Current Basic Life Support (American Heart Association),
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (American Heart Association)
within 3 months of hire Must-Have: RRT Certification, Critical Care
Experience Description: Under general supervision, provide services
for the Respiratory Therapy Department for all appropriate age
levels and in all areas served by the department. Administers
therapeutic treatments as prescribed by attending medical staff.
Records treatment information and patient treatment response in
their computerized medical record. Acts as a resource to medical
staff. Performs invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and
monitoring of patients. Provides age-appropriate care to patients.
Ensures that respiratory equipment is cleaned and maintained.
Maintains necessary respiratory therapy records. Performs as part
of the quick response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests.
Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge and skills of
Respiratory Therapy procedures and equipment operation and repair
are essential. Ability to make clinical decisions related to
patient care regarding the pulmonary and cardiac systems. Ability
to interpret the appropriate information to identify patient needs.
Good interpersonal skills and ability to maintain effective working
relationships with colleagues and staff. Some computer skills are
necessary. Graduation from an approved Respiratory Care Program is
required.
